SDCP Politics | Duterte's Supporter in Camiguin Prevented by the Romualdos to Attend the Rally

DAVAO CITY, Davao — Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s camp reacts the local government officials objection on Duterte's campaign rally in Camiguin island.  It was published in the news online and other social media entity that the Duterte's supporters was prevented by the Romualdo's clan to attend the rally.

It was learned that the supporters were harassed, threatened, removal of cash benefits to those who join the rally and market vendors were  threatened to removed them in their respective area in the public market if they were try to attend the big rally of Duterte and Cayetano's tandem in Mambajao, Camiguin. The electricity was cut off and the supplier of the sound system was warned not to do any more business in the island.

This is a clear violation of the election code of the Philippines and we are looking for the Comelec Chair Bautista to address this issue as well as the reaction of the CHR Chair Chito Gascon to stop gross human rights violations in Camiguin.

Duterte's spokeperson Peter Tiu Laviña posted in his Facebook earlier today:
"Napoles also said Romualdo had a P10-million project with the DA-Regional Field Unit 10 and P5 million with the DA-NAFC and the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) sourced from CA funds.
Napoles claimed that Romualdo also asked for a 50 percent rebate and took some of her personal vehicles, including a Ford Expedition with plate number JGN-999 and a Toyota Camry."
 said the spokeperson of Duterte,

In addition to his statement, Laviña urged the people to stand its right against thier local executive. It's about time to expose how dirty the politics in Camiguin. Romualdo's clan are members of the Liberal Party and supporting LP presidential candidate Mar Roxas and  the independent candidate Grace Poe. They wanted to show that Duterte and Cayetano's tandem is not welcome in the island dominated by them.

Despite of the terror tactics of the ruling party, the Duterte's supporters still manage to attend the said rally and they were able to built a makeshift stage for the campaign. It was attended by more or less 5,000 Camiguiños.

During the rally, which started only when the Davao City mayor arrived, Duterte reminded the Romualdos that political rallies are protected by the Constitution and that they could get in trouble for trying to stop the rally.

Mindanao railway Duterte priority, says Alan Cayetano

DAVAO CITY, Philippines
— The Duterte-Cayetano tandem has revived the proposal for the 200-kilometer Mindanao Railway System, which had been planned to connect Mindanao’s food-producing regions to the country’s markets, such as Manila.
Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano said the railway system, which would provide low-cost transport system for food and agricultural commodities from Mindanao, would keep the country’s food prices low and affordable for people in big cities.
That is why, the railway system is on top of the priority list of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, if he wins as the country’s next President in the coming 2016 election, according to Cayetano, Duterte’s running mate.

“Landlocked agricultural areas like North Cotabato, Bukidnon, Agusan and Lanao del Sur with no access to ports or cargo-loading airports will greatly benefit from the Mindanao Railway System,” Cayetano said during a federalism forum in Kidapawan City.
 Efficient, low-cost

“The railway system will ensure efficient and low-cost transport of food commodities from agricultural areas like North Cotabato to the ports of Davao, General Santos City or Cagayan de Oro City,” Cayetano told banana farmers, who had earlier complained of the inadequate transport and shipping system in the province, and how a poor transport system damages their products even before they reach their markets.
Benefit farmers

Cayetano said an efficient and low-cost transport system, such as the Mindanao railway, would benefit farmers in Mindanao and would keep the country’s food prices low.
“It will be a priority project under the Duterte presidency because of its importance in ensuring low-cost food for the nation,” Cayetano said.
He said the proposed Mindanao Railway System had been studied and approved but did not materialize because no funds had been allocated to it by the national government.
Highly centralized

“The delay in the implementation of the railway system is another proof of how a highly centralized unitary government neglected the development of the countryside,” he said.
“Compared to the MRT, which costs P50 billion per line with the seventh line now under construction, the Mindanao Railway Project will only cost P75 billion,” Cayetano said.
North Cotabato is the country’s biggest producer of bananas for the local market, although some farmers in the town of M’lang have started exporting organic rice to Europe and other countries.

The province is also one of the biggest producers of raw and semiprocessed rubber products and oil palm despite farmers’ perennial complaints about their lack of access to a wharf or an airport.
