Daylight Killing in Lucena: Mall Employee Shot Dead in Suspected Crime of Passion
Lucena City, Quezon - A man was shot and killed inside a store along Enriquez Street in Barangay 4, Lucena City at around 11:00 a.m. on March 5, in what authorities are now looking into as a possible crime of passion.
The victim was identified as Jayson Zoleta, an employee of a clothing outlet in a mall in the city. According to police investigators, Zoleta and the alleged gunman—Fattah Esmail Faisal, a resident of Barangay Marketview—were reportedly in a relationship in the past, which may have played a role in the violent confrontation.
The suspect immediately fled the scene after the shooting and remains at large. Police have launched a manhunt operation to track him down and bring him to justice.
The brutal daylight attack has stirred concern in the community, while Zoleta’s family and friends mourn the loss of a life tragically cut short.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts to report to the nearest police station.
