— The Davao Summerfest Deca Wake Jam is part of this year's Davao Summerfest, which also includes activities such as the Davao Sports Expo, Davao Summer Games, and various summer camps and clinics, which aims to position Davao City as a premiere summer destination.
The Davao Summerfest Deca Wake Jam is a two-day wakeboard and wakeskate competition to be held on May 24-25, 2012 in Deca Wake Park Davao. Wakeboarders and wakeskaters from all over the country will be battling it out in their respective divisions such as Pro Wakeboard, Pro Wakeskate, Open Wakeboard, and Open Wakeskate.
Deca Wake Park Davao, rising to fame as the new best Cable Park in the country will be host to over 100 riders from the Philippines, and is expected to be the top crowd-drawer in the 2012 Davao Summerfest. Deca Wake Park Davao have been host to huge competitions such as the Kadayawan Cup (August 2010) and Deca Open Wakeboard and Wakeskate Tournament (December 2011) which attracted competitors from the US, Canada, Belgium, Thailand, Singapore, Korea, and the Philippines.
Qualifying and Final Rounds will be held on May 25, 2012. At the time of release, sponsors include Duaw Davao Festival Fdn., Inc., Deca Wake Park Davao, and The Board Shop. Admission to the event is free to the public and spectators can expect to be entertained by the competition on the water, as well as fringe activities throughout the event.
