News | Firecracker Seller Arrested in Davao

A 27-year-old man was arrested in an entrapment operation for allegedly selling firecrackers at the Toril Public Market in Davao City on Monday afternoon, December 29.

Police identified the suspect as alias “Salman,” a resident of Poblacion, Toril. Assorted firecrackers and pyrotechnic devices were confiscated during the operation conducted by personnel of Toril Police Station 8.

Police reiterated that Davao City strictly enforces its firecracker ban under City Ordinance 060-02, which prohibits the use, possession, and sale of firecrackers and pyrotechnics.

Authorities said charges will be filed against the suspect after the holidays, and he may spend the New Year in police custody.
