Politics | House of Betrayal: How Impeachment Became a Political Weapon Against Sara Duterte

House of Betrayal: How Impeachment Became a Political Weapon Against Sara Duterte

So let’s stop pretending — this impeachment circus isn’t really about confidential funds.
Yes, Vice President Sara Duterte has confidential funds. So does the President. So do other top officials.

These are legal, policy-backed, and—like it or not—confidential for a reason. But the Lower House used this narrative to push a rushed, suspiciously-timed impeachment. Why?

Because Sara Duterte is the biggest political threat heading into 2028. Period.

The House’s move wasn’t about justice — it was about elimination. It’s the oldest political trick in the book: smear your strongest rival early, discredit her, and hope she doesn’t make it to the ballot.

And let’s not kid ourselves — they know exactly what they’re doing. But the Senate didn’t play along.

Instead of becoming pawns in this political power game, they chose to uphold the Constitution. They returned the case, demanding legal clarity and proper process — something the House clearly had no interest in. That’s not inaction. That’s integrity.

Now, ask yourself: if they can weaponize impeachment like this against the sitting Vice President, who’s next? This isn’t just about Sara Duterte. This is about whether we’re willing to let the dirtiest parts of politics crush democratic choice. Because make no mistake: the game for 2028 has already begun — and it’s getting ugly.

So, watch closely. The same playbook they’re using today could be used against anyone tomorrow.
And if we stay silent, we’re letting them win.
