Personnel from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD XI) and Mines and Geosciences Bureau Region XI - MGBXI, together with the Mdrrmo Maco and the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Davao de Oro recently conducted an aerial survey over the landslide incident area at Barangay Masara in Maco, Davao de Oro today.
Supported by helicopters from the Tactical Operations Group 11, Tactical Operations Wing Eastern Mindanao, PAF, the aerial survey is for the agencies and local DRRM offices to have a better appreciation of the landslide that occurred last Tuesday night, and to support search and rescue operations on the ground.
The team will come up with an assessment report as to the effects of the landslide, which will help local governments and national government agencies in mitigating future risks of landslide in the community.
