Kahit Isang Araw Lang: Unity Run for Education - January 22, 2012

Davaoeños to Run for Education.
Some 30,000 Davaoeño runners are expected to join the nationwide unity run that would aim to help and support the education of deserving filipino children in the country. Davao Runners are coming from different places of  this region. The  unity run dubbed as " Kahit Isang Araw Lang " and it will be on January 22, 2012.

The runners from the Davao Region will be part of the 300,000 who are projected to participate in the one-day unity run which will be held simultaneously on said date at seven key cities in the country.
The “Kahit Isang Araw Lang” unity run was launched on January 6 in Davao City being one of the identified event sites in Mindanao. The starting point of the fun run in the city will be at SM City Davao.

Seven Key Cities in PH who will participate the event:

  • Davao  
  • Cebu
  • Manila 
  •  Bacolod
  • Tacloban
  • Butuan
  • Puerto Princesa 


The city government of Davao and DepEd Region XI responded positively to the unity run advocacy for education, and expressed support to the event on January 22.

Vice-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte expressed his support through a message delivered by Councilor April Dayap, saying that the highest priority of the city government include the infrastructure needs of public schools in Davao City.


Additional Important Info:
  • The three top winners for female and male will each be awarded with a medal and cash prizes ranging from ₱15,000 to ₱35,000.
  • Those who will finish the ceremonial run and the race will also be entitled to a raffle draw after the race, with prizes to include brand new car, motorcycle laptops and cellphones for Metro Manila.
  • For all other locations, finishers will have the chance to win from the raffle draw motorcycle, laptops and cellphones.
  • The first 20,000 registrants will be provided with free official unity run singlet and canvass bag. 
  • The registration start on January 6 and it ends on January 16, 2012

Online Registration:

1. Print the registration form

2. Fill out the form

3. Go to the nearest authorized bank and deposit your registration fees

(Note: please don’t forget to get the deposit slip receipt and write your name “the registrant’s name” in the deposit slip)

4. Scan the filled out registration form and the deposit slip receipt and email to registration@unityrun.com, or you may directly fax to 748-9307

  • Registration is considered final upon verification of bank deposit.
  • They will send an email notice if you are one of the first lucky 20,000 registrants.
  • For the first 20,000 registrants nationwide, will receive official Unity Run singlet.




Vicente Hizon Elementary School in Davao City was also a recipient of ten computer units and one aircondition unit, while a school in Taguig was provided a speech laboratory.

The run for education advocacy was initiated by broadcast journalist Daniel Razon, chair and chief executive officer of Breakthrough and Milestones Productions International, Inc. (BMPI) that operates and manages UNTV.
