Operation Smile, a non profit oraganization organized  The 500 Smile Run in Rizal Park, Davao City on November 27, 2011 at 4 AM. It aims the runners in Davao to raise funds for their project in the country.

Registration Fee:

  • ₱350.00  - for 3K, 5K, and 10K
  • ₱650.00  - for 16K
Assembly time: 4:30 AM, 
Gun start: 5:00 AM

Important Notes:

  • D-Tags will be used in all categories.
  • Medals will be issued to all finishers (including 500m).
  • Runners who do not start within 10 minutes from respective gun start shall be flagged disqualified from the race, may not be allowed to start, and may not be given official race time result.

Organzation's Profile:

Operation Smile is a non-profit medical service organization based in Norfolk, Virginia (USA), founded in 1982. A secular NGO, the children's medical charity provides cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children worldwide, assists countries in reaching self-sufficiency with these surgeries, and works to reduce the occurrence of cleft lips and palates. To date, Operation Smile has provided reconstructive surgery to over 150,000 children and young adults in more than 60 countries.

In line with the organization's celebration of their 30th Anniversary next year with "Journey Home" as their theme, they organized The 500 Smile Run, their goal is the runners of Manila and Davao to raise funds for their project to provide free reconstructive surgery to 1,500 Filipino children and young adults in ten days through eight simultaneous surgical missions in various parts of the country.
