DAVAO REGION

Davao Region
— Also called as Davao or Southern Mindanao, designated as Region XI in Philippine Geography.
 And it is one of the prime regions in the Philippines, located in the southeastern portion of Mindanao and in southern part of the Philippines.

Davao Region consists of four provinces:
Davao del Sur
Davao del Norte
Davao Oriental
Compostela Valley
Davao Occidental (the new province of Davao)


The region encloses the Davao Gulf and its regional center is Davao City.
And Davao City is the Business Hub of Mindanao.
Davao is the Hispanicized pronunciation of daba-daba, the Bagobo word for "fire" (the Cebuano translation is "kalayo").
