Blogs | Sippin’ in Style: This Hippy Coffee Spot in Abreeza is a Vibe!

Davao Foodies | Coffee Shop

A Hidden Gem at Abreeza Mall: Kalakoa Coffee Hut ☕✨

While casually roaming around Abreeza Mall, looking for what’s new and exciting, I stumbled upon a cozy little spot on the 3rd floor that instantly caught my eye, Kalakoa Coffee Hut.

At first glance, it might seem like just a small corner café, but don’t let its size fool you. Once you step in, you're greeted by a warm, inviting ambiance that’s both cozy and hippy. Think laid-back island vibes meets artistic coffee nook, perfect for unwinding after a day of shopping or catching up with friends.

Despite its limited space, Kalakoa has managed to create an atmosphere that’s amazingly relaxing. The interiors are tastefully done, and every corner feels Instagram-worthy... from the soft lighting to the tropical-themed decor. It’s the kind of place where you’d want to sit for hours with a good book or just people-watch while sipping your favorite brew.

Speaking of brews, their coffee is absolutely top-notch! I tried a couple of their blends, and each cup was smooth, rich, and brewed to perfection. Pair that with their delicious food offerings, and you've got yourself a new go-to coffee spot in the city.

Here are some snaps I took during my visit... just to give you a feel of the place:

If you ever find yourself at Abreeza, I highly recommend dropping by Kalakoa Coffee Hut. Whether you're a certified coffee lover or just looking for a charming new hangout, this little café will definitely win you over. I know I’ll be back soon,.. and probably often!

Directory | Chowking Branches in Davao Region

Serving More Than Food: Chowking’s Growing Impact in the Davao Region

Chowking continues to strengthen its presence across the Davao Region, with branches in Davao City, Tagum City, Digos City, Panabo City, and other key areas. More than just a favorite destination for affordable Filipino-Chinese meals, Chowking plays an important role in supporting the region’s growing economy.

In Davao City, the region’s economic center, multiple Chowking stores contribute to employment and boost activity in malls and commercial hubs. The brand provides stable jobs for residents while offering convenient dining options for students, professionals, and families.

Meanwhile, in Tagum City, Digos City, and Panabo City, Chowking’s expansion reflects increasing business confidence and urban growth. Each store creates new employment opportunities, generates local tax revenues, and attracts foot traffic that benefits nearby businesses.

Across Region XI, Chowking supports local economies through job creation, workforce training, and contributions to city revenues. Its presence also strengthens the service and retail sectors, complementing Davao’s strong agricultural and commercial foundations.

As the Davao Region continues to grow, Chowking remains more than a restaurant — it is a contributor to local development, community livelihood, and economic progress.

Food Blog | Chill out in Chowking, JP Laurel Ave., Bajada, D.C.

    Chowking Halo-Halo

DAVAO CITY, Davao Chowking is the perfect place to chill out during the summer season—or even on ordinary days. If you’re craving halo-halo, then Chowking is definitely the answer. This store has many branches in Davao City, all over the Philippines, and even abroad.

I must say that the halo-halo at Chowking is still one of a kind. It has more ingredients compared to other halo-halo options available in the market today. While we have many restaurants here in Davao that also serve halo-halo, Chowking has its own distinctive taste that you’ll definitely crave. In our vernacular, we say “hahanap-hanapin at iyong babalik-balikan”—meaning you’re going to look for it, and once you taste it, you’ll keep coming back.

    Quick Facts:
Chowking is a Philippine-based food chain. It follows a Western fast-food service style but with a Filipino touch. It serves Chinese-inspired dishes like noodle soups, dim sum, rice toppings, and more.

Anyway, if you're up for more yummy food, just visit a Chowking store, available nationwide and even in countries where there are many Filipino residents or immigrants. (Nag-promote, hahaha!)
