Bontoc, Mountain Province
Early this Monday morning, October 27, 2025, tragedy struck in Barangay Tocucan, Bontoc, Mountain Province when a truck carrying construction workers lost control and plummeted into the Chico River.
The light-duty Elf truck from Balintaugan Construction, en route to Sadanga, reportedly collided with two parked vehicles before veering off the road and falling into the river ravine.
Emergency responders from the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Bontoc retrieved three bodies. Search operations continue for possible other victims.
Authorities are investigating the incident to determine what led to the crash.
